Experiece, Still the Best Teacher

Author: Vishii Rita Krocha

We draw lessons from a lot of things in life. Lifelong it seems there never is enough time to possibly know and learn everything under the sun. Education does not neccessarily make us the wisest people. True, it teaches us a multi-million things. It even discipline us and pave our ways towards becoming knowledgeble individuals. We are better scholars with a little knowledge just about everything- Science, Humanity, Economics, Geography and the like with it's branches expanding everytime one reaches a step higher.

They are all some kind of lessons that make us aware of things that we do not notice and have the least idea of. Otherwise how else would we know about the planets that revolve around the sun. How else would we know the history that lived behind us and how people of great power fought for position, the weaker ones always having to resign and just how conclusively they settled terms to bring about various civilizations. Education in schools and colleges is just an additional feature that adds up to shaping people's minds and talents.

Life is a learning process- the whole of it. Years and years are not enough time to stop learning. You would still discover a new thing even when one day you wake up to find you have lived for more than eighty years.

All through there's a source that teaches you. Teachers obviously take its role when you are on an educational venture in schools or just anywhere higher earning a degree. It's home when it comes to teaching you virtues that would probably make the person you are for the loveliest gestures and everything nice begins at home. But probably nothing actually beats Experience, the grand master of all teachers.

Whoever said "Experience is the best teacher" was right in every sense. It's funny we might think an elder person would be wiser than anyone below his age. Not neccessarily so. There's every possiblility that a person at a younger age may come to know a lot more through experience. Most of us may never know how it would be like to have one whole family under a roof that shelters a single room and never having enough to fill our stomach. Yet there are some unfortunate kids who know this feeling only too well. And they are not wiser by age but by experience just as a younger mother would know much better how well to tend to a child's need than a woman who has never been married.

All experiences in life make a person grow. It also broadens one's mind and gives better insights for things not easily comprehensible to people with lesser experiences. There are people who learn early in life about it's struggles and they have better skills to overcome situations that are not so favourable owing to the experiences that they have had.

This learning does not owe to any bookish knowledge because it comes from experience that dawns on them when they least expect it. Sometimes those experiences may not always be something one can relish on and look back on with joy and some sense of pride. Sometimes, they can be the best of experiences that do not happen quite often and may prove to be the most worthwhile lessons that they would ever learn. At times, experiences may come to us in the form of ugly moments, incidents and situations. They can even be painful and give us almost unbearable memories but they could even turn out to be valuable teachings that you may find it too precious to part with because as horrifying as the tough experiences may seem, one would still learn something really worth out of it.

Age offers us a lot of lessons. Even education keeps us tuned to the knowledge that we must have of the world that we live in but Experience outdoes every kind of teaching that may be imparted on us. No doubt, It still is the best Teacher of them all.
